Ratings on FlippedNormals
You may have noticed that ratings on FlippedNormals work a little bit differently to the standard convention.
Curation lies at the heart of everything we do, and this extends to our sellers as well. As you browse through the marketplace, instead of individual product ratings, you will now see the average rating of the creator. With this upgrade you can easily find trusted sellers who consistently deliver excellent content and great customer support.
You can also view the number of sales a creator has made by visiting their storefront. In addition to the average rating, this valuable metric helps customers see the reputation of a Creator's store.

Individual product ratings will still be prominently displayed as well. You can find these on the individual product pages. Here's an example from our tutorial Introduction to Sculpting.

Quality Over Quantity
Every rating contributes to a creator's average rating, creating a strong incentive for them to maintain high quality at all times. Creators who consistently earn 5-star reviews will see their entire store benefit from their hard work. Conversely, creators who receive mixed ratings will be motivated to remove underperforming content to protect their average rating.
Simply put, we only want quality content on FlippedNormals and this revamped system helps us maintain our high standard.

Rate Products in No Time
Rating a product is easy as pie. Simply visit your library or the product page of a purchased item and click on the stars. That's it! In the rare event that you have any issues with a product, we highly encourage you to reach out to the Creator before leaving a rating. This gives them an opportunity to fix the problem which is a win-win for everybody.

What Each Rating Means
In doubt about what rating to give a product? Here's what each star rating means.
- 5-stars: A great product that met or even exceeded your expectations.
- 4-stars: A good product with some minor, insignificant flaws.
- 3-stars: A very average product with several flaws that you think needs improvement.
- 2-stars: A bad product with major flaws that needs serious work.
- 1-stars: A completely broken product that have no business being on the internet. You think this product should be removed immediately.
Fair Use Policy
As a customer, it's your responsibility to use the rating system fairly. We hold our sellers to a high standard and have developed a system that makes each rating important to their reputation. It's therefore important to use the system respectfully and in good faith. Low ratings that are submitted under unfair use, out of malice, or for reasons outside the seller's control will be removed at the sole discretion of FlippedNormals.
The following are examples of fair and unfair use of the rating system:
Download Issues
If you're having download issues, this is almost always outside the control of the seller. Contact FlippedNormals Support instead if you're having download issues.
🟢 Fair: You had trouble downloading a product because the seller uploaded massive files of 5GB or more. You give the product a low rating.
🔴 Unfair: You had trouble downloading a product because of an unstable internet connection or other download issue not related to the file sizes. You give the product a low rating.
Getting Help from a Seller
Make sure you contact the seller before giving them a low rating and give them a chance to fix the issue. Remember that they may not be aware there is a problem.
🟢 Fair: You're having a serious issue with the product and have contacted the seller for help. It's been more than 2 business days and the seller hasn't responded. You give the product a low rating.
🔴 Unfair: You're having a serious issue with the product and have not contacted the seller for help. You give the product a low rating in the hopes the seller notices and reaches out to you.
Minor Issues
Your rating should take the entire product into consideration. Look at the section "What Each Rating Means" to help determine what you should rate a product.
🟢 Fair: A product has a minor issue. It's a bit annoying but it doesn't greatly affect the overall experience or content of the product. You give the product a 4-star rating.
🔴 Unfair: A product has a minor issue. It's a bit annoying but it doesn't greatly affect the overall experience or content of the product. You give the product a 1-star rating.
Unzipping Files
File issues are almost always a technical issue caused by an interrupted download or by using the wrong software to unzip. This is outside the seller's control and you should instead contact FlippedNormals Support.
🟢 Fair: One of the files you've downloaded won't unzip. You've tried re-downloading the file, used different software to try and unzip, and contacted the creator for help with no luck. You give the product a lower rating.
🔴 Unfair: One of the files you've downloaded won't unzip. You give the product a low rating without first trying to re-downloading the file, use a different software to try and unzip, and contacting the creator for help.
