    3D Models: Any 3D models created with AI are strictly prohibited.

    Products such as reference packs, illustration packs, and similar products generated by AI are not allowed on FlippedNormals. It's vital that artists can trust that the reference packs on FlippedNormals are captured from the real world without the use of AI to ensure their integrity.


  3. Privacy and Data Protection:

    FlippedNormals strongly opposes scraping practices and the selling of user data. We'll never sell or share your data with a third party or use data on FlippedNormals to train our own AI models. Customers are also not allowed to use purchased products to train AI models.


  4. Supporting Utility-Based AI Products:

    We recognize the value of AI in making artist's workflows more effective. Therefore, utility-based AI products such as scripts, alphas, and other tools that assist but do not replace the artist's creative process are permitted.


  5. Quality Assurance and Product Removal:

    FlippedNormals reserves the right to remove any product from our platform on a case-by-case basis to maintain the highest quality standards. This is essential to ensure that the products available align with our commitment to artistic excellence and integrity.


Use of AI When Making Tutorials

Our tutorials are intended to promote the skill development of artists through genuine, human-driven teaching. For this reason, tutorials that rely on AI as a core part of the creative process are not permitted. This includes the use of AI-generated concept art, reference images, or 3D models, as well as promoting generative AI tools as a replacement for artistic workflows.

That said, we acknowledge the growing role of AI as a supporting tool. When used appropriately as a utility, AI can boost productivity without replacing core art skills.

  • Educational Use: Educational discussions exploring the pros and cons of generative AI, including showing AI-generated assets for critique or analysis

❌ Not Accepted Uses of AI in Tutorials:

  • AI Images: Using AI-generated concept art, reference images, or illustrations at any stage of the tutorial
  • Gen AI Tools: Featuring or encouraging tools like Midjourney, DALL·E, or similar generative AI during the tutorial
  • AI 3D Models: Using AI-generated 3D models, textures, or other creative assets
  • Replacing Artistic Workflows: Promoting workflows where AI replaces foundational artistic tasks (e.g., sculpting, animation, texturing, etc.)
  • Promotion: Promotional materials - including AI generated thumbnails and gallery images or trailers.

Implementation and Enforcement

  • Compliance: All users and contributors on FlippedNormals are required to comply with this policy. Failure to adhere may result in the removal of content and potential suspension or termination of the user account.
  • Review Process: Submissions will be subject to review to ensure compliance with this policy. FlippedNormals maintains the discretion to determine the acceptability of content.
